Context

Auto-update incidents #165–#167 consistently reject nixpkgs 044bfe75 because moonlight-qt 6.1.0 does not build against FFmpeg 9. It references API members removed from FFmpeg 9.

Scope

Add a Moonlight-only compatibility override using ffmpeg_8; do not pin FFmpeg globally. Register the pin with the automated pin lifecycle so scheduled checks retest the unpinned current nixpkgs candidate and open a review-only removal PR after it recovers.

Completion criteria

  • Moonlight uses FFmpeg 8 while all other packages continue using the selected nixpkgs FFmpeg.
  • The generated lifecycle metadata and reverse patch bind the temporary override to this issue.
  • Remediation and lifecycle regression gates plus nix flake check pass.
  • No update is deployed or merged automatically.
